This multi-species fishing provides for a broader experience for our clients with the opportunity to bottom-fish with heavy rods and tackle seeking Halibut and other deep-sea dwellers, and to use lighter tackle to hook into some Salmon when those species are in the area. We typically mooch for Silver Salmon. “Mooching” is a technique where each person jigs their hook baited with a small piece of herring. When the fish bites, the hook gets set and the fight is on. You will find this is a more effective technique than troll fishing when the fish are schooled up and allows the angler to feel the bite.
The catch limit for Silver Salmon is six fish per person inside Resurrection Bay and three Silvers each when caught outside the bay. We spend half our day mooching and half our day fishing for halibut. The typical halibut caught on our fishing charters weigh between 20 and 80 pounds, with many fish over 100 pounds brought in daily in Seward.
We ask you to meet us at the Alaska Seafood Grill between 5:30am to 5:45am. The Grill will open at 5am and have coffee, quick breakfast options. Our crew will meet you there and walk you down to the boats. We will leave the dock promptly at 6am, returning between 4:30 and 6pm.
You must purchase a fishing license prior to your trip. If on a King Salmon combo you must purchase a King Salmon Stamp.

In addition to a fishing license, you will need to bring food and beverages. We recommend you wear warm, layered clothing and water-resistant shoes-boots, and bring raingear, hat, gloves, sunscreen, sunglasses, and seasickness remedies. You might want to bring a camera and binoculars, as well. No large coolers please, You’re welcome to bring a small cooler for your lunch, if you’d like.
There is a 7% tax and a $3.50/person head tax.

– UNDER $5.00 PER GALLON: NO SURCHARGE
– $5.00 – $5.25 PER GALLON: $10 PER PERSON PER DAY
– $5.26 – $5.75 PER GALLON: $20 PER PERSON PER DAY
– $5.76 – 6.25 PER GALLON: $30 PER PERSON PER DAY
